Someone made off with Brooks & Dunn's ACM statuettes for Top Vocal Duo in Las Vegas the night of the awards. The trophy-nappers sent an anonymous note to Kix and Ronnie. It says: "Unless you want to see these precious trophies turned into giant belt buckles,
you need to come up with a good trade. How about a tour bus or perhaps a mirrored steer head?" They included a picture of the statues blindfolded. Brooks & Dunn's manager says there will be
no negotiations with thugs. He said, "Some will have to suffer for the good of the majority. If we give in, no award will be safe. GRAMMY, CMAs and Oscars will all be at risk. We hope the public understands."

You’ve heard that Nashville demo singers are good, but how good are they?
Apparently, good enough to make Ronnie Dunn draw a deep breath.
He said,
“The vocal on it [It's Getting Better All The Time]and the demo intimidated me a little bit,
because it was one of those that Ronnie Bowman,
who was one of the writers with Don Cook, had sung the demo. It was so good and so soulful.
We cut the tracks, and I took it back to my barn where I could get comfortable and I wasn’t self-conscious,
and just got in there with it, and went at it. And it locked, I think. I always suffer from ‘demo-itis,’
we call it, you know where you listen to a track so many times going in before a record or song or something like that…
you like what you hear before coming out better than what you’ve come out with. But it all came together for that one.”
